Our God is intentional on giving direction.
He tells us throughout his Word that he will direct our steps, gives us the desires of our heart, and show us the path to take. Yet, I sat at 30 years old, slightly in the dark about what those next steps of my life would be. A few things I did know; I love Jesus. I love developing friendships and I love encouraging women to pursue Jesus. Yet, I lacked the actual direction of what God could and would do with this passion.
In the fall 2015, Propel Women had just launched it’s curriculum, and chapter yet, I knew very little about this new movement and concept. My very good friend invited me to attend an upcoming Propel event with her. Women discovering their passion, purpose, and potential sounded like a great idea. The conference was packed with an incredible line up of speakers. I’m a stay at home mom with two kids, and very little social time.
A girls weekend? You don’t have to ask me twice. Let’s go, let’s do this!
So in November, a few weeks shy of Thanksgiving, my best friend and I packed up our cutest outfits, shoved some flight snacks into a small carry on (Twizzlers anyone?) and left our sunshine state at home, and traveled to Tulsa, Oklahoma for what we thought would be an enjoyable break.
Yet, I quickly became awakened. God is moving His girls. And that means me. And sister, that also means, you.
Is this excitement just something I feel? Or is this an actual mission? Why am I here? What is my calling? As Propel Women, we call that purpose.
On that beautiful stage of GUTS church in Tulsa, OK, each of these powerful women spoke on how culture is shifting. We are in a place of leading women to reclaim our feminine role on this planet and share the heart of Jesus tangibly, with this broken world. To not just wish, but to work.
To stand up, and start Propel chapters and groups, share Biblical encouragement and knowledge and give our resources to those around us who need to know there is a savior of this world.
With each woman speaking, with each encounter from the Holy Spirit, with each heaven-crafted Word spoken into me; this event quickly transformed itself into a personal launching experience for me. This wasn’t just any event; this was the activation into my purpose, and potential. I was receiving direction.
Walking away that day, my friend and I sat quietly for some time and let this new revelation and wisdom sink it. I was now unveiled, and God’s purpose for my life was before me. I am on this earth for a good work.
There is no coincidence that me, us and yes, you too, as fierce, influential, undaunted women have been born into this time.
We are placed at this exact time, in all history, as some of these authors and speakers we look up to. And we are being invited to jump into His plan with both feet, and bring his “Kingdom come, His will be done, on earth as it is in heaven”.
As we flew back to our home in Florida, my friend and I sought God on direction for our own Propel Chapter. And through this conference, we were awakened to God revealing those answers and direction we had yearned for. God flourished our Propel Chapter, and it has tripled in size to reach more and more women.
We continued seeking God and Sisterhood was birthed at our home church. It is currently thriving and will be launching across all 3 of our home church campuses. We are seeing the lasting fruit of this event continue in every woman that steps into a church for the first time because of one of our Propel sessions, and in every woman that steps out of her comfort zone to begin to serve.
This is an event that is still bringing a tangible harvest that has eternal effects.
The Propel Activate Events was and is pivotal to my shaping as a leader, woman, and most of all a child of God. And I will go so far to believe that if you are reading this then our God is inviting you to participate.
Friend, we are in this together and our God is giving us our purpose, and direction.
